Ranking Mavericks players by trade value: 15-13

15. JaVale McGee

At this point, McGee has very low trade value, as it's already been reported that Dallas wants to trade or waive him. McGee was a terrible defender this past year, and Kidd rarely played him last year unless it was a last resort.

Teams will not likely trade for him due to his poor defensive play. The only way that I could see the Mavericks unloading his contract is if a playoff-bound team desperately needs a backup center at the trade deadline. For now, he will be a mentor to Dereck Lively II as he begins his NBA career this season.

14. Dwight Powell

Powell is another player with low trade value, and it also seems unlikely that Mark Cuban would trade the guy who does the most community service on the team. Powell was nominated for the NBA Community Assist Award for the third time in the last five years this past season, and he also signed a three-year, $12 million extension this summer.

The big man provides some quality minutes on the floor for the Mavericks at the center position. And with his brand new extension, it seems likely teams will come calling to trade for him.

13. Tim Hardaway Jr

The veteran shooting guard is someone that the Mavericks have had a hard time trading this offseason. He doesn't have much trade value, as he's making $34 million over the next two seasons, and a lot of teams don't want to take on his contract. Hardaway Jr. was a very spotty shooter last season, only hitting 40% of his shots.

Hopefully, someone will need a veteran guard at the deadline and will call Nico Harrison to see if he’s available because it's become clear that Dallas is ready to move on from Hardaway Jr. With Jaden Hardy playing the way he did during his rookie season, it's time to make some room for the younger guards.
