2. Pro - On-court fit

If you take away all of the trade specifics, Clint Capela is the perfect player to fit alongside the Dallas Mavericks’ star players, as he could be a great addition next to Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.

Throughout the entirety of his career, Capela has been the dream big man for playmaking point guards, as he’s gotten the chance to play next to James Harden and Trae Young.

Capela’s athleticism and long frame makes him a perfect lob threat, and that’s exactly what Doncic needs. The veteran big man would immediately step in and be the best center Doncic has ever played with.

Meanwhile, his rebounding ability would strengthen the Mavericks’ under-the-basket game on both sides of the ball, as he would be able to clean up minutes and help the defense close out stops.

And on the defensiveve end, he would be a big-bodied anchor in the middle to help the Mavericks thwart the likes of Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic. He’s not the defender he was in his prime, but he’s still a major step up from the Mavericks’ center rotation right now.

Capela is a double-double machine who would improve the ceiling of the Mavericks for at least the next two seasons.
