1. Victor Wembanyama

Last week's rank: 1

Victor Wembanyama retains his No. 1 spot in this week's list, but Holmgren inches closer.

Wembanyama continues to showcase why he is the best rookie of his class once again this week. After snapping the Spurs' 18-game losing streak, Wembanyma has made a point of emphasis that he is the number one star on his team.

Despite a seven-point stinker against the Chicago Bulls, Wembanyama has played amazingly all week. In the game prior to the win against the Lakers, Wembanyama dropped a game-high 30 points and six blocks.

Wembanayma has not only terrified opposing teams with his shot-blocking ability, but he has also looked much improved defensively. Wembanyama has led all rookies in total blocks and has even showcased an elite perimeter defensive ability. If Wembanyama can unlock the ability to become a switch defender, the sky is the limit for him and the Spurs.

Wembanyama has been amazing all season long on the offensive side of the ball; even his playmaking has looked impressive.

Things could get scary for the other 29 NBA teams if Wemby can unlock a playmaking ability. He would quite literally be a video game character with how unstoppable he would be.

Wembanyama has looked scary all season, and that is a large reason he's been the number-one rookie for multiple weeks now. The Dallas Mavericks are now just days away from their Christmas Day showdown against the Phoenix Suns. For more updates on Mavericks basketball, stay plugged in.
