The Dallas Mavericks recently fell to the number one-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves, which happened to be another outing where Luka Doncic just put on an absolute show.
Luka has scored 30 or more points in 10 of his last 11 games, scoring 39 against the Timberwolves marking it the ninth consecutive game in which he hit this mark.
With the Mavericks sitting alone as the fourth seed, the play of Doncic automatically puts him in the MVP conversation. Nonetheless, we know the narratives surrounding Luka and this Mavericks team. It seems he may have to go above and beyond if he wants a true chance at the prestigious award.
NBA continues to disrespect Mavericks star Luka Doncic for no reason
For the third consecutive week at NBA.com, we've seen Luka Doncic drop in MVP rankings for reasons that remain unknown to most fans.
As we know the media votes on the MVP award, and there are some nasty narratives resting on top of Doncic and the Mavericks. These narratives could be one reason the media continues to neglect what Luka is doing.
This Mavericks team has been slapped in the face with injuries over the last month, yet remains a top team in the West. Usually, this strengthens an MVP case, but I guess not for Doncic. The media might not be watching Luka or truly believe some of the other candidates are performing better, but regardless Doncic continues to prove the offseason haters wrong.
As the season continues it'll be interesting who keeps their case strong and who falls out of the race completely. There are zero signs of slowing down for this Mavericks team as they keep getting better, solidifying the roles and wants of this season.
Luka Doncic also doesn't show any signs of slowing down, while putting up big numbers at home or away, and when hurt or healthy he clearly is an MVP candidate and is only making his case stronger.
Stay tuned for more updates on Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks.
