Report: Mavericks guard Luka Doncic signs massive new sneaker contract
By Noah Weber
Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic has quietly had the best offseason of his entire career, and he will soon be able to show that to the entire world as FIBA World Cup games will start soon.
Doncic has taken his conditioning and training to the next level, and his playing weight looks to be down (as the Mavs requested earlier this offseason). He has already dropped multiple triple-doubles in the FIBA World Cup preparation games, and fans could get to see the best-ever version of Doncic once the season begins.
Along with playing great in the FIBA World Cup qualifying games, Doncic has also been in the news off the court.
Report: Mavericks guard Luka Doncic signs massive new sneaker contract
As of August 24, NBA Insider Marc Stein reported that Doncic signed a new contract with Jordan that will run through 2029. The exact financial details of the deal were not reported.
Doncic is the obvious "leading face" of Jordan in the NBA, and sneakerheads will get to see plenty more models of Doncic's signature "Luka's" as the years go on.
Doncic has already made two signature sneakers during his time with Jordan, and more are certainly on the way. Both models have been low tops, and before that, he designed multiple player edition sneakers with Jordan, including Jordan 1's and Jordan 36's.
Doncic is fairly new to the sneaker scene, but get used to seeing his signature Jordans around because they aren't going away anytime soon.
The Dallas Mavericks have successfully improved their roster around Doncic and Kyrie Irving, and the duo will look to carry Dallas to the playoffs after a disappointing end of the season in April. That was Doncic's first time to miss the playoffs since his rookie year, and the Mavs have to have more playoff success in order to keep Doncic happy.
We'll have you covered with all the latest news and rumors surrounding Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks this summer, so stay tuned.
