How can Dallas Mavericks keep Luka Doncic for his entire career?

Dallas Mavericks need to get Luka Doncic back to having fun on the court

The frustrating season coupled with some off-the-court issues (subscription required) has limited the amount of Luka Doncic smiling fans have seen on the court, especially down the stretch. Some were quick to blame Kyrie Irving, but that is not true. Doncic has marveled at Kyrie and is committed to making their partnership work.

Luka is at his best when he is enjoying himself on the court. Lately, there is just too much complaining to officials, frustration, and lack of effort. Doncic has missed some time with a thigh injury that could still be playing a factor. Whatever it is, the Mavericks must get it fixed and get LD back to playing with joy.

Fans want nothing more than to see this Luka.

Doncic is an unbelievable talent, who is on pace to go down as an all-time great, but he will not do that unless he finds his joy again. The three straight years of non-stop basketball could be catching up to Luka as he has represented his country at every opportunity during the NBA offseason. Perhaps, number 77 just needs a break to recharge.

It is all just speculation, but Dallas Mavericks fans are hoping that Luka Doncic has his smile on full display the next time he takes the floor and it stays there.
