3. Kelly Olynyk

The first potential trade target on this list, Kelly Olynyk would be an ideal fit on the Dallas Mavericks. He’s the perfect veteran guy to bring aboard as the team attempts to push for the postseason.

In his first season with the Utah Jazz this past year, Olynyk put up solid stats, helping a squad that many thought were destined for a top-three pick in the 2023 NBA Draft remain competitive throughout the year.

Offensively, Olynyk would be an amazing fit next to Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. His three-point shot is lethal, as he shot 39.4 percent from distance on 3.5 three-point attempts per game this past year.

Plus, his passing is a very underrated part of his game, allowing him to make plays out of the post or in the pick-n-roll. This would give Dallas’ offense a much-needed extra layer from the big man spot.

Defensively, Olynyk is better than most give him credit for. He’s not amazing in the post, but he holds his own fairly well, and he racks up plenty of steals for a player at his position.

Olynyk is also able to slide down to the power forward position, which would give Jason Kidd and his coaching staff some rotational flexibility.

If the Mavericks could make a trade work, snagging Olynyk would be a big-time win for the team.
