5. Jakob Poeltl

Set to be an unrestricted free agent, snagging Jakob Poeltl won’t be easy for the Dallas Mavericks, who won’t have a ton of cap space to work with. However, if they could find a way to add him to the mix, he would be the perfect center.

Poeltl just wrapped up a solid season that saw him traded from the San Antonio Spurs to the Toronto Raptors mid-way through the season, but with the former potentially entering a rebuild, he could be on the move again.

The big man would be able to step in and immediately change the tone for the Mavericks on both sides of the ball, as he would play his role to perfection.

Defensively, Poeltl’s interior presence would give Jason Kidd a big body to work with, anchoring a Dallas defense that is in desperate need of help on that side of the ball.

Meanwhile, on the offensive end, his pick-n-roll game and offensive rebounding would help Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving tremendously, finally providing Doncic with a go-to target on the inside.

Again, without significant cap room, it may not be easy for the Mavericks to acquire Poeltl, but if they could work something out, it would be a match made in heaven.
