How could the Dallas Mavericks improve their roster off of the turmoil of the Utah Jazz?

Rudy Gobert rumors make headlines on almost a daily basis, and the Mavericks are reportedly interested in acquiring the 7’1 big man. Dallas needs a rim protector that can be Luka Doncic’s pick and roll partner. Gobert fits perfectly in that role, and he would improve the Mavs already enhanced defense.

If Utah decides to blow it up, Bojan Bogdanovic could also interest the Mavericks. The 6’7 forward is a proven scorer and shooter that played stout defense against Dallas in their first-round playoff series. Bogdanovic would give the Mavs another offensive weapon and outlet for when things break down.

General manager and president of basketball operations Nico Harrison and the front office in Dallas are expected to be aggressive in making improvements this summer. They want to build a title contender around superstar Luka Doncic, and trading with the Jazz could be the easiest avenue for upgrading their roster.

Donovan Mitchell could ask for a trade, but fans should not expect the Mavericks to land the 6’1 guard as the price to acquire him will be more than Dallas can offer this summer. Jordan Clarkson, Mike Conley, and Royce O’Neale could all be available in the right move, and the Mavs could have some interest to improve their depth and guard play.
