One of the hardest parts about last offseason was how much the Dallas Mavericks wasted on the trade for big man Christian Wood.

They sent four players (Boban Majanovic, Trey Burke, Sterling Brown, and Marquese Chriss) and a first-round pick to the Houston Rockets for Wood, and he is already off the team as he signed a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers last week.

This trade seemed like more of a move to clear up roster spots than a trade for Wood, and Mavs head coach Jason Kidd didn't even want Wood in the first place.

Report: Former Mavericks fan-favorite center signing with Rockets

This trade looks awful now, as Wood had a track record of being a distraction on all of the other teams he played for, and had never played in the playoffs.

These same problems persisted in Dallas, as he wasn't satisfied with his bench role and played awful defense.

Although the four players Dallas lost in this trade weren't tremendous losses, losing one of the players hurt more than the others. That player would be Boban Marjanovic.

Marjanovic only played in 8.2 minutes per game during his time in Dallas, but his role was bigger than his performance on the court. He was one of Luka Doncic's close friends, and was a great veteran presence in the locker room.

And it looks like he'll be staying with the Rockets as ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that he is signing a one-year deal with Houston. Marjanovic will be a great veteran presence for the Rockets as they have tons of young players that need growth on and off the court.

Last season in 33 games for Houston, Marjanovic averaged 3.3 points and 1.9 rebounds per game.

His role will likely continue to be extremely limited in Houston, and Mavs fans' first chance to see him in action against Dallas is on November 28.

Boban Marjanovic's time in Dallas will never be forgotten, as he was always doing something funny and had a smile on his face.

We'll have you covered with all the latest news and rumors surrounding the Dallas Mavericks this season, so stay tuned.
