2. Klay Thompson thinks the Mavs were the perfect match

When a player is a free agent and looking for a new team, it's important for that player to be a perfect match for that one team. For Klay Thompson, he believed the Mavs were the perfect fit for him.

A key reason to what Thompson saw as a perfect match to signing with the Mavs is the fact the they have an outstanding duo of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. With his joy for the game diminishing in Golden State, Thompson saw Dallas' duo attractive to play with.

"Guys like Luka and Kyrie on the floor, I think just me being out there is going to give them a lot of space to operate. Same with our big men," Thompson said. I mean, Dereck [Lively II] and Daniel [Gafford], just their ability to roll and finish is also great."

It's not just the duo of Doncic and Irving, but the other talent with Dallas' big men that Thompson was able to see being a perfect fit in Dallas.

When he left the Warriors, Thompson needed to go to a new team that was going to fit his game at a high level, and right now with the current roster the Mavs have, Thompson found the right team to fit in. Thompson sees himself in the right situation in Dallas to keep his game at a high level.
