Adjustment Dallas Mavericks need to make in Game 2 vs. Suns: 2. Get Brunson going

Luka Doncic needs a co-star to defeat the Phoenix Suns. He cannot be a one-man show because no matter how incredible Luka plays, the Suns have a deep team with eight-plus players that are going to make contributions in every game.

Jalen Brunson struggled with foul trouble in the first half of Game 1, and he just never found his footing after averaging 27.8 points per game in the first round against the Utah Jazz. JB finished with 13 points on six of 16 shooting from the field in the opener versus Phoenix.

The Suns are a much more difficult matchup for Brunson and the Mavericks. They defended the 6’1 point guard with Devin Booker and Jae Crowder in Game 1. Both have some size and strength on JB, which he struggles to overcome. Can head coach Jason Kidd find a way to get Brunson going in Game 2? Expect some early attempts as he looks to get back on track.

The Dallas Mavericks need 20-plus from Jalen Brunson if they are going to defeat the Phoenix Suns. It will be no easy task with the looks Phoenix is throwing his way, but can Brunson rise to the occasion? The Mavs will do everything they can to get him going on Wednesday night.
