Teams will decide to sell at the last moment: Dallas Mavericks will look to capitalize

It is a seller’s market right now. The play-in tournament keeps more teams in the hunt, but this season there is zero room for error in the Western Conference. Fourth and 13th in the conference are separated by just three games, which means literally one good week can put a team in the top six, and one bad one could knock them completely out of the play-in tournament.

Most teams are looking to upgrade their rosters at the deadline, and the list of teams looking to sell is tiny at this moment. The Hornets, Spurs, and Rockets are willing to move veterans for draft capital. Even the Pistons are holding firm that they do not want to trade Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks, depsite being at the bottom of the East.

The prices are incredibly high because no teams are selling. It is a market just like any other, and less supply always means higher prices. The Mavericks are not interested in overpaying (more on this to come), but deadlines always breed action.

There will be a couple of teams that decide to jump into the seller’s line at the last moment, and the Dallas Mavericks will look to capitalize. They are just waiting and being patient. The Mavs know the prices will come down as the deadline nears, and that is important in their current situation.
