Top 10 draft pick is another asset Dallas Mavericks could use to build out their roster

The Mavs could use a top-ten pick in their rotation, and it gives them another asset to use in improving their roster. Dallas does not have a ton of those right now. The Mavericks gave up two starters and three draft picks to acquire Kyrie Irving, and they will still owe a first-round pick to the Knicks if their pick does not convey this summer.

Dallas could dangle their top ten pick along with a first-rounder in 2027 to make a significant upgrade on draft night. What would a top-ten pick and a future first net them? Could the Mavs acquire a third star to pair with Luka and Kyrie? Do they just keep the pick and hope to develop their selection?

Dallas should certainly explore the trade market if they keep their pick. Who knows what teams are willing to offer for a top-ten draft choice? The Mavericks must maximize the talent on their roster this summer and that means exploring every avenue to improve.

The Dallas Mavericks would love to have a top-ten pick in 2023, but that alone is not enough to fix their current problems.
