The Dallas Mavericks are locked in a tight race in the Western Conference as the regular season winds down. They could climb as high as third or slip back to seventh depending on their play over the final two-plus weeks of the regular season. The Mavs have been one of the hottest teams in the league, and their play has only improved since trading Kristaps Porzingis on deadline day.

Superstar Luka Doncic is playing the best basketball of his career. The 23-year-old is getting to the rim at will, making plays, and has his jumper dialed in. No team wants to face the Mavericks in the playoffs as Doncic has led them to the fourth-best record in the league since the calendar flipped to 2022.

The Mavs have not won a postseason series since winning the title in 2011, but the organization plans on changing that this season. They must figure out some problems before the playoffs begin to make that a reality.

Fans know Doncic is going to play his best on the biggest stages, so what will the rest of the roster produce?

Head coach Jason Kidd has the Dallas Mavericks looking like a serious threat, but here are five issues the team still needs to sort out before the playoffs begin.
