Who are the next superstars that could request a trade?

This is always tricky because sometimes these situations can come out of nowhere like Paul George being traded from Oklahoma City to the LA Clippers to join forces with Kawhi Leonard. Save for the shocking, these things happen in one of three ways.

First, the team decides to shop their star player because things are not working out or they want a fresh start. That is currently the case with Donovan Mitchell. He does not want to be traded, but he could be moved at any moment.

Second, the star player requests a trade. Without extensions before the end of the season, LeBron James and Draymond Green could both be unrestricted free agents. Do the Lakers or Warriors decide to trade either player? Who knows, but things could get ugly if new deals are not reached.

Transactions can come together quickly, so the final one is having to include a star player in a trade to land a bigger fish. Think Boston talking about including Jaylen Brown in a deal to land Kevin Durant. The Mavs are not going to have this luxury anytime soon, so they need to look for stars that want out or their team is looking to start fresh.

Zion Williamson and Deandre Ayton led the young talents in likeliest to request a trade. Both are skilled big men, but they have had their issues with management. Next summer could be the year of the blockbuster with both players looking for new homes.

There will be at least one star player to request a trade, but should the Mavericks be worried about Luka Doncic asking for one?
