5 bargain bin free agent wings the Dallas Mavericks should target

Bargain bin free agent wing Dallas Mavericks should target: 1. Otto Porter Jr.
Porter Jr. helped the Golden State Warriors reach the NBA Finals this year, and Mavs fans saw his impact coming off the bench in Games 1 and 2 of the Western Conference Finals. The 6’8 forward was injured in Game 3 and missed the rest of the series, but he played in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
Porter Jr. signed a one-year contract with the Warriors last summer for $2.4 million. He is an unrestricted free agent this offseason, and the Dubs are limited to offering him just 120 percent of his current contract or just $2.9 million. If the 29-year-old wants to make more money next season, he will have to do it elsewhere.
Porter Jr. offers size, versatility, defense, and floor spacing. Injuries have been an issue, but he would be an outstanding fit next to Luka Doncic in Dallas. It would be a risky move. Porter Jr. has played just 161 games in the last four seasons combined, but the Mavericks just need him healthy for the playoffs and he could be a difference-maker.
The Dallas Mavericks will be searching everywhere for upgrades this offseason, which means plenty of news and rumors, so be sure to check back to The Smoking Cuban daily for all the latest.
