Boban Marjanovic returns and shares love for Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic
By Tyler Watts
The Dallas Mavericks fell to the Houston Rockets 101-92 on Wednesday night as superstar Luka Doncic rested on the second night of a back-to-back. Number 77 is leading the league in scoring, and he needed a break after a long summer of basketball leading the Slovenian National Team.
Facing the Rockets meant the return of Boban Marjanovic. The 7’4 big man spent three seasons in Dallas where he formed a close bond with Luka and was beloved by everyone in the organization. Boban’s on-court impact was rarely massive, but his locker room presence and ability to uplift the group is missed.
The Mavericks played a tribute to Bobi during Wednesday’s game, and the 7’4 big man shared his love for Luka Doncic after the contest. Here is a closer look at Marjanovic’s return to Dallas.

Everybody loves Boban, and he has a unique ability to make everyone he interacts with smile. Marjanovic is always spreading love, and the Mavericks returned the favor with this tribute video that played inside the arena on Nov. 16.
Bobi responded by doing his trademark heart arms, and there was clearly a lot of love on both sides for the former Mavericks big man.
After the game, Marjanovic offered massive praise for his friend on his incredible start to the season before saying this about Doncic.
"Every day I am reading something new about him. It’s like Luka Magic. Of course, he is the heart and soul of this team, and what he does, I don’t know any person that can do that. I don’t say that because he is my really good friend, but because it is true."
Boban went on to say he supports Luka with “all his heart”, and he discussed their postgame conversation. Fans can listen to the full interview with Marjanovic here.
