Trade for Dallas Mavericks to acquire Ben Simmons: 2. KP plus pick

This one still might take a third team, but it gives the Sixers more value. They get two stretch big men in Kristaps Porzingis and Maxi Kleber. Tyrell Terry just finished his rookie season with the Mavericks. He was touted as one of the best shooters in the 2020 draft and would offer Philly another floor spacer to put around Embiid. They also grab the Mavs 2027 first-round pick. That is the first one they can trade, unless they remove the protections from the 2023 selection slated to head to New York.

The Mavericks acquire George Hill with Ben Simmons. The veteran backup point guard has played in 139 career playoff games and he is a career 38.4 percent shooter from 3-point range. Dallas needs to round out their roster with experience, and Hill brings plenty of it.

Would Simmons and Hill be worth two capable starters in the frontcourt, a second-year guard with potential, and a first-round pick? It would be a difficult decision for the Mavericks. Simmons is a three-time All-Star and has been on the All-Defensive first team twice. Yes, he struggled in the playoffs, but his talent is unquestionable.

The Dallas Mavericks could acquire him with a plan on helping him improve. If Simmons can sink his free throws and hit a few jumpers, he becomes a deadly two-way option. The Mavs would have to have confidence that they could help him reach his potential.
