Dallas Mavericks free-agent target to watch in playoffs: 3. Danny Green

The Mavs have been interested in Danny Green for years. They pursued him heavily in free agency in 2019 but lost out to the Lakers after Kawhi Leonard joined the Clippers. Dallas attempted to acquire him at the 2020 trade deadline, but could not close the deal. They again were interested prior to the start of the 2020-2021 season when he was dealt to Oklahoma City and then Philadelphia. The Mavericks could take one more shot this offseason.

The 33-year-old would give Dallas a veteran wing with three NBA championships to his name. He is a career 40.1 percent 3-point shooter that would instantly improve the Mavs defense. Green is the role player every championship team needs. He is going to play his spot and compete hard on both ends of the floor.

Danny Green will have plenty of suitors in free agency. He has played well for the Sixers this season and was a starter on the previous two NBA championship teams. Green knocking down shots and playing solid defense gives the Sixers a chance to win the Eastern Conference.

Will the Dallas Mavericks finally be able to land Green this summer? Expect there to be mutual interest from both sides.
