Dallas Mavericks need role players to step up to defeat the Clippers in Game 6

Luka Doncic has been the constant for Dallas in the series. The games have been separated by his supporting cast stepping up to help him.

In Game 5, Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 20 points, but he was the only other Maverick in double-figures. The contributions came in the form of clutch shots and defensive help. Dwight Powell grabbed three massive offensive rebounds. Dorian Finney-Smith had five steals and one block. Everyone was flying around the floor to make their zone defense work.

The Mavericks need contributions from role players on both ends of the floor. It will likely take more than 105 points for Dallas to win Game 6. They will need more scoring from somewhere. Jalen Brunson, Dorian Finney-Smith, or Kristaps Porzingis must score in double digits for Dallas to have a chance.

The Mavs need that same energy and effort on the defensive end in Game 6. They must create a few key turnovers to pull the upset. Dorian Finney-Smith, Maxi Kleber, Dwight Powell, and Boban Marjanovic will all play important defensive roles on Friday night. Their success or failure will go a long in determining the outcome at the American Airlines Center.
