Biggest question heading into LA Clippers series: 1. Can Luka lead Dallas Mavericks to the upset?
Luka Doncic proved inside the bubble that he is going to raise his game in the playoffs. Save for a Game 3 ankle injury, the 22-year-old superstar was unstoppable. The Clippers have multiple strong defensive wings to throw at Doncic, but it did not matter. Luka averaged 31.0 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 8.7 assists in 35.8 minutes per game in his first NBA playoff series as he shot 50.0 percent from the field.
Doncic put the Mavericks on his back in Game 4 and willed them to victory. It was an incredible contest that featured a 42-point triple-double from Luka and an unforgettable game-winning buzzer-beater. Can Doncic do that for the entire series? Will he lead the Mavericks to their first playoff series victory since winning the championship in 2011?
It will be no easy task. The Clippers are arguably the favorites to win the Western Conference, but Luka Doncic will be the best player on the floor in the series. The 22-year-old is going to shine in the playoffs. Will it be enough to pull the upset?
Coach Rick Carlisle will have the Dallas Mavericks ready for what should be one of the most exciting series of the first round. Do not miss a second of the action, and be sure to check back to The Smoking Cuban for plenty more after every game.
