Dallas Mavericks free agent target to watch the rest of the season: 4. Danny Green

The Mavs nearly signed Green in the summer of 2019. The veteran went on the Lowe Post podcast and discussed how close he was to coming to Dallas. Instead, he landed with the Lakers and won a championship. Green is starting for the Sixers this season, but expect the Mavericks to be interested when he hits free agency again this summer.

The 33-year-old is an outstanding role player. He plays above-average defense, spaces the floor, and knocks down shots. Green is never going to do too much. The 6’6 wing knows his role and is happy to fill it.

He knocks down shots with ease. Green loves to spot up, and Mavs fans know Luka Doncic is one of the best players in the league at finding open shooters. Signing Danny Green would give the Mavericks an elite shooter. He has hit 40.1 percent from 3-point range for his career.

Green brings a ton of playoff experience too. He is a three-time NBA champion. The young Mavs currently lack that veteran presence.

Danny Green and the Sixers will be looking to make a deep playoff run this season. Keep an eye on the veteran down the stretch.
