Takeaway from Dallas Mavericks win over Pacers: 5. THJ gets hot in the fourth

Tim Hardaway Jr. was coming off one of the worst games of his career. He missed all 12 of his field goal attempts against the Raptors as he finished with zero points in Monday’s blowout loss. THJ sat out on Sunday’s game in Chicago with a quad injury, and he did not look to be 100 percent versus Toronto.

Hardaway Jr. had nine points in the first three quarters, but he was still searching for his jumper. The 28-year-old found it in the fourth. He had ten points in the final period including two 3-pointers. The Mavericks went on a 24 to 11 run in the first six minutes of the fourth quarter that was capped by this Hardaway Jr. slam dunk.

He looks to be just fine after that fourth quarter. THJ helped get the Mavericks back in the win column.

The four players still in the league’s health and safety protocols should be nearing a return. It will be interesting to see if coach Carlisle keeps Hardaway Jr. in the starting five or moves him to the sixth man role. Either way, expect him to play key minutes in the fourth quarter and push some games out of reach as he did against the Pacers.
