Dallas Mavericks: Kristaps Porzingis shows off his recovery progress
Dallas Mavericks star Kristaps Porzingis played out of his mind during the Walt Disney World restart. He had over 30 points in four of the six seeding games he played in. KP was also displaying outstanding defense and rebounding well heading into his first NBA playoff experience.
The 25-year-old did not stop in the postseason. He was ejected in Game 1 but still finished with 14 points and six rebounds in less than 20 minutes on the court. The Unicorn followed it with 23 and seven in Game 2 before having a monster 34 points and 13 rebounds in Game 3. Porzingis looked unstoppable, but that turned out to his final game.
He injured his knee in the playoff opener. KP played through the pain for two games, but things worsened before Game 4. He was ruled out just before tipoff and did not play again. Porzingis had surgery this offseason to repair his meniscus, and the 7’3 big man will miss the start of the 2020-2021 regular season. On the eve of the opener, KP showed off his progress.

KP tweeted out four photos on Tuesday of him practicing. Fans can see them below.
The Unicorn looks happy to be back on the court. Coach Rick Carlisle told fans that KP was doing some on-court work, but it was fantastic to see him dunking. The Mavericks have ruled Porzingis out until January, but expect him to try to make it back sooner. Zinger looks close. The Mavs should be cautious, though. They need KP to reach their goals, so there is no need to rush the All-Star big man.
The Dallas Mavericks promise to be one of the most exciting teams in the NBA this season. Fans will not want to miss a second of the action, so keep it locked to The Smoking Cuban for all the latest news, analysis, and opinions on the Mavs.
