Dallas Mavericks acquire Dennis Schroder in hypothetical trade

Jimmy Crowther of All Things Mavs proposed a hypothetical deal that would bring Schroder to Dallas. See the trade below.

The Thunder could decide to rebuild this offseason. Danilo Gallinari is an unrestricted free agent, and there are no guarantees he stays in Oklahoma City. Both Dennis Schroder and Steven Adams are entering the final season on their contracts.

It is no secret the Thunder would love to capitalize on Chris Paul’s outstanding season by moving off the $85 million owed to him over the next two years. Trading CP3 could trigger a total rebuild around Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

If Oklahoma City decides to tear down, they would love to grab an additional first-round pick for Schroder, especially since he has just one year left on his deal. The Thunder have a hoard of draft picks already from trades with the Clippers and Heat, but they would love to add more.

Delon Wright gives them a serviceable rotation player that can play either guard spot, and Justin Jackson is entering the final season of his rookie contract. The Thunder could move on if Jackson does not find a place in their rotation next season.

It is a deal the Dallas Mavericks should be excited about making too. Here is a look at why.
