Will the Dallas Mavericks trade for Chris Paul?

Mavs fans should not worry about this rumor. First, it stated they had “interest” in Paul. That could mean anything. Second, it was not confirmed by any Mavericks insider. Third, Dallas is unlikely to throw away the chance at adding Giannis Antetokounmpo or another superstar for two seasons of Chris Paul. It just would not make sense.

Odds the Dallas Mavericks trade for Chris Paul this offseason: 2 percent

The only thing that could push the Mavs into making this move would be Giannis, LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard, and other marquee 2021 would-be free agents agreeing to long-term deals with their current teams. Dallas might then kick the tires on adding CP3. What are the chances of that? Slim to say the least.

Fans should trust in the Mavericks front office. They traded for Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis. Finding the finishing pieces that make Dallas a title contender will happen. Supporters may have to wait another year, but it is coming. The present and the future promises to be fun, so do not miss it.
