Dallas Mavericks: Player grades in first-round series vs. LA Clippers

Dallas Mavericks playoff player grade: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
Grade: C+
Kidd-Gilchrist missed the first four seeding games in the bubble. He played in every contest following that including all six in the first-round series against the Clippers. MKG’s role expanded when Kristaps Porzingis was out.
The 26-year-old made a massive impact in the game four win. MKG had three points and three rebounds in 19 minutes while playing tough defense on Kawhi Leonard. Dallas outscored LA by eight during his time on the floor.
Kidd-Gilchrist’s shooting was a bit troubling. Overall, he made a positive impact in the series which earned him a C-plus grade.
Dallas Mavericks playoff player grade: Delon Wright
Grade: C-
Wright did not play by the coach’s decision in games four and six. He was limited to under ten minutes in two other contests. It was a disappointing playoff run for the 28-year-old. Wright had 11 points and two steals in game five, but Dallas lost by 43 points.
Coach Carlisle played Trey Burke over Wright in this series. It will be interesting to see how that impacts things going forward. Wright just finished the first season of a three-year deal. He could be on the trade block as the Mavericks search for upgrades this offseason, though.
