Luka Doncic goes off in second half as Dallas Mavericks fall to Clippers

The Clippers started the second half with a 20 to three run. They continued to double on Luka. The Mavs were getting open looks, but still not connecting. Doncic picked up a technical foul and Dallas’ only basket during that stretch. The run had the Clippers up by 20 and on the verge of closing out the Mavericks.

Luka was not done, though. He got hot in the third quarter including scoring nine points in the final 90 seconds to get Dallas back in the game. It was capped by this old-school 3-point play.

Doncic had 31 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists as the game went to the fourth quarter. The Mavericks were down 11 but had a bit of momentum.

They kept it going as this Luka step back three cut the lead to six and forced a Clippers timeout with 9:28 left in the game.

LA brought back Kawhi Leonard. He immediately got going with eight points in 3.5 minutes to help the Clippers expand the lead back to 13.

The Mavericks could never quite catch up. The Clippers closed out the series with the win on Sunday afternoon.

Luka Doncic finished with 38 points, nine rebounds, nine assists, and one steal in 42 minutes of action in game six. That included many highlights. See all of his best plays here.

It was an incredible first NBA playoff series for the 21-year-old. The Clippers were just a bit too much for Dallas without Kristaps Porzingis.
