Dallas Mavericks: Adjustments to make in Game 6 vs. LA Clippers
By Tyler Watts
Changes the Dallas Mavericks should make in Game 6: 1. Get Luka easy looks early and often
Luka Doncic is one of the best inside finishers in the NBA. He made 72.6 percent of his 379 attempts from inside the restricted area this season. For context, Giannis Antetokounmpo hit 74.2 percent from that range.
In his first NBA playoff series, Luka has connected on 37 of 60 from inside the paint through five games. Getting him into the paint draws the defense leading to open shots for his teammates too.
Doncic was taking six field goal attempts from inside the restricted per game through the first four. He got just three in game five. The Mavericks need to get him easy shots early and often on Sunday if they plan on pulling the upset. Creating mismatches and forcing the Clippers from doubling by making open shots will be key to getting Doncic free.
Expect a massive performance from Luka Doncic in game six as he attempts to keep the Dallas Mavericks season going. The 21-year-old superstar will be hunting for his third playoff win and triple-double. It will be no easy task, but a few Mavs adjustments could make it happen. Fans will not want to miss a second of the action, so stay tuned.
