Why Clippers duo bests the Dallas Mavericks: 2. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George

The Clippers’ new pairing has only played 32 games together. That is by far the fewest number in the top five. The two superstars are fantastic just as everyone expected, though. The Clippers won 24 games with both players in the lineup this season.

With both men on the floor, the Clippers excel on both ends. They have a 115.2 offensive rating and a 103.5 defensive rating for an impressive net of 11.6. They also produce a true shooting percentage of 58.2.

LA will be difficult to beat in the playoffs if both Leonard and George are healthy. Their defense is outstanding. The Clippers star duo presents matchup problems against any team too. Every team is searching for elite defensive wings. The Clippers have two plus Patrick Beverley. Good luck topping that in the postseason.

The chemistry should only improve between George and Leonard during the restart. 32 games are not a massive sample size. After the four-month break, both men should be fully healthy and ready to win it all in Orlando. The Mavericks want to move up to avoid facing them in the first round.

Leonard and George may be the best duo in the NBA in fan’s minds, but one tops them statistically.
