How far can Dallas Mavericks star Kristaps Porzingis climb in power forward rankings?

The first question to tackle here is what is Porzingis’ position long-term? He excelled after moving to the five. Do they Mavs keep him there and build smaller lineups around their two stars? That is an important roster construction question, the front office will have to tackle over the next two offseasons.

Assuming KP stays at the four, he could vault into the top three for the 2020-2021 season. Over his last 15 games before the suspension, Porzingis averaged 25.2 points, 10.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.3 blocks per game. He could turn into an elite 3-point shooter playing off Luka Doncic too. That production passes Pascal Siakam and puts KP in the top three.

Do not be surprised to see Porzingis back in the All-Star game in 2021. The best is still yet to come from the Unicorn. The same could be said for the Dallas Mavericks. They are going to continue building and moving up in the standings. Fans should be excited about the team in Orlando and moving forward.

Another offseason should give Porzingis time to fully adjust to his role in Dallas too. All signs are pointing up for the 24-year-old. He will certainly be a player to watch as the Mavericks return to title contention, so stay tuned.
