Will Dallas Mavericks sign Dwight Howard this offseason?

Howard has opted in for the NBA’s restart in Orlando. He has been a key piece for the Lakers this season. Expect them to be interested in a reunion this offseason.

Howard has accomplished a ton in his NBA career. He is an eight-time All-Star and All-NBA player. Add in his three Defensive Player of the Year awards and Howard will be in the Hall of Fame someday. The one accomplishment that has eluded him is winning a ring. Expect him to look to sign with a title contender for that reason.

The cap is also an unknown at this point. The NBA lost revenue by canceling games and not allowing fans in for the upcoming playoffs. It will be interesting to see what impact that has on the salary cap. Most contenders will not have money to spend this offseason.

The Mavericks will have some interest in Dwight Howard. The odds of them getting the deal done currently sits at about 15 percent.

The Lakers are the favorites to re-sign Howard when he becomes available. Other contenders will throw their hats into the ring too. Howard will be one of the many names to watch during free agency this offseason, so stay tuned.
