The Dallas Mavericks are climbing the mountain. They took a massive leap this season. The Mavs left the lottery and will be back in the postseason during the season’s restart in Orlando. The Mavericks are not happy just being in the playoffs, though. They want to take that next step into a yearly title-contending team. Dallas has two stars with quality role players around them. Seth Curry is an outstanding shooter that can handle the ball and create his own shot. Dorian Finney-Smith and Maxi Kleber are both underrated contributors. Tim Hardaway Jr. has been outstanding this season.

The Mavs are just a piece or two away from joining the NBA’s elite. They have the best offensive rating this season. Improving defensively will vault them up the rankings. Dallas sits 17th in defensive rating this season. The three title favorites are all inside the top five.
