Dallas Mavericks depth chart heading into Orlando: Power forward

Starter: Dorian Finney-Smith

Reserve options: Maxi Kleber, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Justin Jackson

Finney-Smith started 61 of his 64 games played before the NBA suspended action. He will be the unquestioned starter in Orlando at the four. DFS is the Mavericks’ best defender. The 27-year-old never backs down from doing the little things that help the team win.

Finney-Smith was consistently playing over 30 minutes a night in close games this season. Expect that trend to continue in Orlando.

Kleber will be the primary backup at both the four and the five. His abilities to protect the rim and defend on the perimeter stand out. Expect Maxi to play in the high 20s to 30 minutes per game as he takes the reserve minutes when Finney-Smith or Kristaps Porzingis needs a rest. Kleber can also knock down threes and be a roll man. His diverse skill set will earn him the most minutes of any reserve during NBA Orlando.

MKG and Jackson both see spot minutes at the four too. Coach Carlisle could call on Kidd-Gilchrist for his defense in a pinch. The 26-year-old is a plus defender, but his offensive game is nearly non-existent at this stage.
