Dallas Mavericks depth chart heading into Orlando: Small forward

Starter: Tim Hardaway Jr.

Reserve options: Delon Wright, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Justin Jackson

Injured: Courtney Lee

Looking at the depth chart here is precisely why fans are likely to see mostly three-guard lineups from the Mavericks. They are going to start one with Doncic, Curry, and THJ. Expect coach Carlisle to stick with that recipe the majority of the minutes in Orlando.

Hardaway Jr. averages 28.8 minutes per game on the season, but his playing time was trending up too. Over his last 21 games, he played 33.8 a night. Expect THJ to start out in the low 30s with more to come in the playoffs.

Here are two semi-bold predictions for this position. One, Justin Jackson is out of the nightly rotation in Orlando. Two, MKG is reduced to spot minutes and rarely at the three. Dallas is embracing small ball that means more minutes for Hardaway Jr., Curry, and Wright at the three during NBA Disney.

The Mavericks want shooting around Luka Doncic too. Both Kidd-Gilchrist and Jackson have struggled to hit 3-pointers this season. Just one more reason why both men see limited minutes during the NBA’s restart in Orlando.

Veteran wing Courtney Lee will be part of the team’s traveling party. He will provide leadership and experience during the NBA’s restart despite not playing in games.
