Dallas Mavericks: Taking a look at their depth chart heading into the NBA’s restart in Orlando
The Dallas Mavericks held their first mandatory workouts of the NBA’s restart on July 1. That means basketball is officially back. Luka Doncic will lead the team Orlando next week. After a few days of testing, training camp 2.0 begins. That is all leading up to the 22-team restart. Games that count start on July 30.
There has been a massive break without games. NBA commissioner Adam Silver suspended play because of the novel coronavirus on March 11. A lot has transpired since that night. The league is holding the restart at Disney World. The hope is to keep everyone safe and healthy as they finish the season.
There will be roadblocks. The novel coronavirus still presents a threat. The bubble environment will bring about challenges for players too. Winning a title in Orlando will be difficult.
What does the Dallas Mavericks depth chart look like heading into Orlando?
The long break may have some Mavericks fans wondering about the state of their roster heading into Orlando. Injuries have further complicated the picture. Dwight Powell, Jalen Brunson, and Courtney Lee will all miss the restart with injuries. Willie Cauley-Stein opted out of playing in Orlando. That allowed the Mavs to sign Trey Burke as a replacement player.
That means Dallas has 14 healthy players going to Disney World if they include their two two-way contract players. They plan on taking Powell, Brunson, and Lee, but they will not play. Here is a look at what the Dallas Mavericks depth chart looks like before the team heads to Orlando.
