Why Josh Richardson is perfect trade target for Dallas Mavericks: 1. Still improving

Richardson has not reached his peak yet. He is 26 years old. His per-36 minute numbers make gains every season. This year, he is averaging a career-best rebounds per. His assists and points are also above his career averages despite it being a poor shooting season for Richardson.

The current Sixers wing would make significant strides on the Mavericks. He is historically a better shooter, playmaker, and defender than Tim Hardaway Jr. Look at the season THJ is having in Dallas playing with Luka. Wonder Boy could help Richardson maximize his game too.

Before this season, Richardson had stayed healthy (81 and 73 games played the last two seasons) and proved he could handle a significant minute’s load. That bodes well for Dallas as they can use him as a secondary creator and floor spacer. Richardson’s ideal role may be as a 3-and-D wing. The Mavs are searching for an elite option at doing just that.
