Ranking Dallas Mavericks impact if they miss NBA Orlando: 7. Delon Wright

If Brunson is out, Delon Wright’s role will expand. Over the 11 games JB missed before the suspension, Wright’s minutes increased to 24.8 per game. He also saw additional ball-handling and playmaking opportunities.

Wright’s defense could be game-changing in Orlando. He is one of the best perimeter defenders on the team. That will come in handy against the best 22 teams the NBA has to offer. The Mavs would miss him and lack a true replacement if he has to sit out at any point in Orlando.

Ranking Dallas Mavericks impact if they miss NBA Orlando: 6. Maxi Kleber

Kleber also saw more minutes after an injury. Dwight Powell going down opened up a larger role for him. The 28-year-old responded. His ability to protect the rim, space the floor, and defend on the perimeter gives the Mavericks a unique option.

Dallas lacks a replacement here too. Kleber plays both the four and the five. The Mavs will struggle to fill his minutes at the power forward. No other big man can defend on the perimeter as well as Kleber. It would not be surprising to see him play more in the playoffs because of his unique skill set.
