Overall

Dallas Mavericks fans were excited about the second season of Luka Doncic, but few expected this performance. He should win Most Improved Player and make the All-NBA first team. Luka was incredible. He led the NBA’s top offense and had the Mavs back in the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

Overall grade for the 2019-2020 season: A+

It was a no-brainer. He took an incredible leap and became one of the league’s best talents. There was no other grade to consider besides an A-plus.

Injuries actually hampered Luka a bit too. In his first 24 games, Doncic averaged 30.4 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 9.3 assists per while shooting 48.2 percent from the field. He injured his ankle for the first time in the next contest and struggled to stay healthy the rest of the way. That goes to show fans that things should only increase.

Luka is not without areas he can improve. Fans can expect 3-point shooting and defense to be on his list right now.

Doncic is an incredible worker too. He is likely improving as you read this sentence. It remains a scary thought for the rest of the league. No teams are eager to face the Mavericks now. Imagine Luka with three months of growth. He could be the NBA’s best player in the not so distance future. Stay tuned.
