Dallas Mavericks: Grading 2019-2020 season of Kristaps Porzingis
By Tyler Watts
Overall
There were questions about Kristaps Porzingis coming into the season. He did well in answering them. Porzingis proved he can not only play at an All-Star level but still has room to improve. The 7’3 big man is only 24 years old.
The Dallas Mavericks have a special pairing in Doncic and Porzingis. The two are ready to make the team a fixture in the playoffs for the next decade-plus.
Overall grade for the 2019-2020 season: B+
It was a strong campaign from Porzingis, but the best is yet to come. It took some time to find his groove after the extended layoff. Do not be surprised to see him back in the All-Star game in 2021.
Zinger also adapted well to his new role. The Mavs are finding ways to get him easy scores. Their offense had a historic rating this season but should improve over the next few years.
The Dallas Mavericks are building an annual contender. That should have supporters fired up. The best is ahead of the young duo. Hopefully, we get playoff basketball in 2020. That will be an important step as they continue to climb the ladder. The goal is to bring a title to Dallas. Do not count out Luka and KP yet.
