Makes everyone better

Luka Doncic took a massive leap in his efficiency this season. He is shooting 46.1 percent from the field on the strength of attacking the basket more. Doncic is one of the league’s premier pick and roll ball handlers. The 21-year-old is shooting 75.4 percent from zero to three feet from the basket this season. That is one of the top marks in the league save position.

The threat of Luka attacking opens the floor for others to flourish. Consider this, Dorian Finney-Smith, Seth Curry, Dwight Powell, Delon Wright, and Courtney Lee all set new career-highs in field goal percentage this season. When examining 3-point percentage the list of Mavs achieving new marks is Tim Hardaway Jr., Maxi Kleber, Jalen Brunson, Curry, Finney-Smith, Wright, and Lee.

Must Read. Is Luka the NBA's best player under 25?

Doncic’s playmaking is among the best in the league. He not only finds open teammates but hits them so they can go directly into their shooting motion. That has allowed the Mavericks to have the best offensive rating in the history of the NBA.

Luka is going to get guys additional money too. That means not only superstars but role players will put Dallas at the top of their wish list.

Look no further than Tim Hardaway Jr. He was viewed as a potential sixth man or role player that was certainly going to opt-in for next season coming into the year. Now, THJ may test the market after having the most efficient season of his career. It would not be surprising to see him get a significant multi-year payday this offseason.
