Dallas Mavericks: Re-grading the Mavs last 5 drafts
By Tyler Watts

2019 draft
Mavericks select Deividas Sirvydis at 37th overall
Mavs trade Sirvydis to Pistons for Isaiah Roby and two future second round picks
Dallas owed their first round pick to the Hawks as part of the trade for Luka Doncic. Atlanta used it to select Cam Reddish. The deal was still a massive win for the Mavericks, but that has no impact on their grade for this draft.
They turned their lone second round pick into three selections. That was a wise move. Isaiah Roby did not work out. The Mavs traded him for Justin Patton (who they waived) in January. They used the other two future picks to acquire Delon Wright from the Memphis Grizzlies. He has played an important role in Dallas this season. Wright’s defense could also make an impact in the playoffs.
No player drafted after Roby has moved the needle this season. The Mavericks were still wise to grab additional assets when they had the chance. That improved their grade to a B in an otherwise forgettable draft for Dallas.
Re-grade: B
