Mavericks: Luka Doncic heads to Mark Cuban’s home during hiatus
By Tyler Watts
Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic was seen pulling up at the home of Mavs owner Mark Cuban on Tiktok. Find out the latest here.
The Dallas Mavericks are waiting. The NBA suspended its season on March 11 because of the coronavirus. Commissioner Adam Silver released a statement announcing games would be halted for at least 30 days. Teams are unable to practice right now either. Everyone is just waiting to see how things shake out.
The players were told to remain in Dallas. The Mavs are hopeful that team activities will pick back up next week. Until then, they are just taking a break.
Luka Doncic was spotted dropping by the home of Mavericks owner Mark Cuban. Fans can see the video here courtesy of Cuban’s daughter Alexis.
No word on what Doncic was doing at the boss’s house, but it was good to see the 21-year-old star out.
Luka fading down the stretch?
The Mavericks made the blockbuster Kristaps Porzingis trade in late January of 2019. They also dealt Harrison Barnes to the Kings. That left Luka Doncic as the only remaining starter from opening night. His counting stats improved down the stretch, but his shooting efficiency dipped.
A similar trend was developing after the All-Star break this year. Doncic shot just 44.1 percent from the field, 29.3 percent on his 3-pointers, and 69.2 percent from the free throw line over his ten games played since the break. Injuries are partially to blame. He was dealing with sprains to both his thumb and wrist. Fans will not get to know if that trend continued because of the lengthy break.
Expect Luka Doncic to come out strong when play resumes. That could be problematic for the opposition as the Mavericks enter the playoffs. Stay tuned for what should be an exciting wrap up to the season.
