Why do the Mavericks keep being on the wrong end of calls?

Home loss against Kings

On Dec. 8, the Mavs had two calls again go against them according to the Last Two Minute Report. Luka Doncic was fouled on a driving attempt which would have resulted in an and-one. Dallas was down by four points after his make with two minutes to go.

They benefitted from a no-call on J.J. Barea with 1:35 remaining on the clock. The veteran guard fouled Harrison Barnes as he started his shot.

The call fans remember is Cory Joseph clearly fouling Luka on a drive in the final seconds with the Mavericks down two points. The 20-year-old star would have walked to line with a chance to tie, but the call was missed and the game lost.

The Heat loss

Doncic sprained his ankle early in the Dec. 14 game against the Miami Heat. He played just one minute and 40 seconds before being ruled out. The team stayed in it and held a one-point lead with two minutes remaining in the game.

Again Dallas has two calls go against them according to the Last Two Minute Report. Brunson is fouled for an and-one with Dallas up four and just over one minute remaining in the game. He was again fouled in the final seconds of overtime with the Mavericks trailing by one.

The Mavs did benefit from a no-call with 1:18 remaining in overtime for the sake of thoroughness.

Loss against the Nuggets

The Mavericks were on the favorable end of the missed calls against Denver on Jan. 8. They benefitted from two calls in the last two minutes. The referees did miss a foul committed by Mason Plumlee on Luka Doncic with 30 seconds remaining, though.

Clippers win over Mavs

The Dallas Mavericks benefitted from four incorrect calls against the Clippers on Jan. 21. It was still not enough to pull out the victory, but things do not always go against the Mavs.
