Looking ahead

The Dallas Mavericks are back at home against the Memphis Grizzlies in their next game on Wednesday. It starts a stretch of three games against teams with below .500 records.

The Grizzlies are in the eighth seed in the West and just one game under, though. The pairing of Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. could cause issues for the Mavs.

Kristaps Porzingis is on fire right now. He is 22 of 40 from the field in his last two games. More impressively, KP has been to the line 25 times. He has connected on 22 of those tries. The Unicorn is the focus of the Mavericks offense with Luka out. That role is suiting him well over the last two games.

The Mavericks could have an issue in the backcourt, though. J.J. Barea injured his ankle against the Pacers. Doncic and Seth Curry were both already out. That left just Jalen Brunson and Delon Wright to play the point. Hardaway Jr. is the only other healthy guard on the roster. That could cause problems in the coming games if someone doesn’t return.

Best and worse case for the Mavs at the trade deadline. Next

The Smoking Cuban will be back with game content plus trade rumors and analysis, so Dallas Mavericks fans need to return often so they do not miss a second of the action.
