Dallas Mavericks: Luka Doncic has monster triple-double in win over Bulls
By Tyler Watts
Third quarter
Luka Doncic absolutely went off in the third quarter. He started it by blocking Wendell Carter Jr.’s shot just 40 seconds into the quarter.
Then, Doncic got his scoring going with this easy bucket coming off a beautiful pass from J.J. Barea.

That was the start of a massive 21-point quarter from Luka Doncic. He had his step back jumper locked in.

Luka also kept getting to the rim and finishing. The Bulls defense had no answer for him. The NBA’s official account threw together a short third quarter highlight reel of his scoring.
The Mavericks scored 27 points in the third quarter. Doncic had 21 and assisted on a Dwight Powell layup. Meaning the Mavs only had four points that Luka did not have his hands in. It was an absolutely masterful performance from the 20-year-old star.
It was the second time this season that he produced a 20-point quarter. He also accomplished the feat against the Warriors on Nov. 20. That is absolutely insane. There are excellent NBA players that play their entire career without scoring 20 points in a game much less a quarter. Luka Doncic is truly incredible.
It was another historic performance from him. Let us take a look.
