Dallas Mavericks: Luka Doncic highlight package to get fans fired up
By Tyler Watts

Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic is a wizard with the ball in his hands. Put an exclamation point on NBA Handles Week with one final Luka highlight package.
Dallas Mavericks point forward Luka Doncic became the eighth rookie to average over 20 points per game since 2004. Only one of those other seven averaged fewer than 20 per game in their second season. On average, their scoring went up 1.86 points the following season. Something for Mavs fans to ponder when dreaming about Luka’s second year.
It is worth noting that LeBron James and Kevin Durant took the superstar leaps in year two. LeBron averaged 20.9 points as a rookie, and that shot up to 27.2 in a massive 42.2 minutes per game during his second season. KD went from 20.3 to 25.3. No telling what Doncic’s final total looks like, but expect a jump this season.
Fans that cannot get enough Luka are in for a treat. The NBA produced one final Doncic highlight package as part of NBA Handles Week which wrapped up on Aug. 4. Enjoy the short video here.

It is not just the out of this world ball-handling ability, though.
Doncic averaged 22.7 points per game from Jan. 1 on last season. His scoring went up to 22.9 over his last 23 games. It would not be surprising to see Luka score over 23 points per game this season with a plethora of highlights sprinkled in.
The addition of Kristaps Porzingis should help Doncic’s scoring too. Porzingis is going to draw defensive attention. His size and shooting ability will force defenses to make plenty of undesirable decisions. Both players should average over 20 points per game.
