Dallas Mavericks: Dirk Nowitzki shows off his handles
By Tyler Watts
Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki proved he can get fancy with his dribble too. Check of the video as part of NBA Handles Week.
Dallas Mavericks GOAT Dirk Nowitzki accomplished it all on the basketball court. His 31,560 points are the sixth most in NBA history. Dirk could score from anywhere on the hardwood.
Nowitzki was unique in many ways. He was obviously one of the greatest players in basketball history. Dirk also played his entire career in Dallas. He never demanded a trade or looked to team up with a fellow superstar.
The NBA is celebrating Handles Week. They are showing off the best ball-handling moves in history. The Dallas Mavericks could not resist letting supporters know that Dirk Nowitzki had handles too.
Dirk’s love for the game will be missed by the Mavs in the coming season. The legend retired after 21 years in a Mavericks uniform. It will be different watching the team without Nowitzki. Some Dallas fans will be doing that for the first time in their lives.
The team should be exciting, though. Luka Doncic is coming off a massive rookie season. The addition of Kristaps Porzingis gives the Mavs an All-Star caliber one-two punch. The front office added some depth and filled holes this offseason too. The team is hoping to qualify for the playoffs for the first time since 2016.
Dirk Nowitzki figures to be around too. The Mavericks will be searching for a role for number 41.
The organization will also honor him over the next few years. A jersey retirement and statue outside the American Airlines Center are two ways Dirk will be immortalized. The legend deserves every second of it and more.
Dallas Mavericks fans should continue checking back because The Smoking Cuban will bring them all the latest content on franchise GOAT Dirk Nowitzki plus analysis and opinions on the team that cannot be found at any other website.
