Who were the big winners and the big losers of the 2019 NBA Draft? A dive into the big night for the Dallas Mavericks and every other team in the league with draft picks

The 2019 NBA Draft is easily the most unique draft I have ever watched in my life. From the crazy number of picks traded to the surprising picks in both rounds, this one will always stick out as a unique moment in time for the NBA. One of the few teams to actually stay on brand was the Dallas Mavericks.

As I talked about in my Mavs draft grade, I am not completely sold on Isaiah Roby at this point, but based on what has been said about the Mavs intentions to draft Roby at 37 potentially, it is hard not to consider that one a win. Adding two draft picks along with the guy the team was already targeting is a pretty successful move by Donnie Nelson and the rest of the brain trust.

The Mavs were far from the only successful team in the NBA Draft. With 60 picks to be made and one of the highest number of traded draft picks in NBA history, there were bound to be some clear cut winners and losers.

Although not all of them came on the night of the draft, there were a total of 27 picks that did not (or will not) end up on the team that owned the pick based on the results of last season. Almost half of the picks were not technically selected by the team that should have been picking in that spot.

Here are a few winners and losers from the NBA Draft that took place just a few nights ago. And yes, some of them may be a little bit biased.
